Wheel Ride for Food
A charity benefit road ride to raise funds for Meals on Wheels

General Information

The ride will start at 8:30am from Carrier Park in Asheville. Please Click here for Directions (link to MSF directions page) and parking information. Each entrant will receive a raffle ticket, lunch, event water bottle and beverage ticket for the Mountain Sports Festival village (alcohol available for 21 and over). The first 250 riders to will receive a free t-shirt so register now to make sure your correct size is available.

Rest stops- there will be 5 total rest stops available along the route stocked with fruit, snacks, first aid, water, sodas and energy drinks.

Lunch will be served for riders finishing between 11 and 4pm. Wraps will be provided by Feel Good Flat Bread for no extra charge. Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.

Ride Checklist
  • Clothing - Prepare for the worst. Mountain weather can change quickly. Bring plenty of comfortable clothing for the ride and post-ride event. Strip layer off to stay cool.
    • Rain Gear
    • Tights
    • Jacket
    • Synthetic underwear
    • Gloves (fingered, fingerless)
    • Clothing to stay and enjoy the rest of the activities for the Mountain Sports Festival.
  • Sunscreen & Lip Balm
  • Helmet - Required for all riders
  • Shoes - Have a spare pair handy for after the ride
  • Tools - SAG support will help you in the event of a breakdown. You may want to ride with a spare tube and an air supply. Road conditions should be excellent, flatting should be minimal.
  • Food and Water - Rest stops will supply plenty of carb-rich food, fresh fruit and water. Supplements and other nourishment are up to you.
